Birthday Cupakes (MilkBar inspired)

The smell of coffee brewing. Looking from the inside out at snow falling. Pink lipstick (+) black eyeliner. Coconut milk vanilla lattes. Wine. Wine. Wine. Riesling, please. HRV, only few know the true meaning. Dance workouts. Cupcakes. Kitchen life.

Just a few things that I have recently discovered in all of the 21 days to this new year and am absolutely in love with. I mean really how can you go wrong with a latte in the morning, followed by a dance workout, off to work in the kitchen surrounded by some rather cheeky people and to round it all up, a glass of Riesling while chatting with your friend about dating…okay so maybe the last word is not my fav word of the moment but everything else, come on YES PLEASE. This year is off to a fantastic start if I must say.

I ran out of frosting…froze the unfrosted ones. Tip of the day!

No matter what year, for about the first month and a half, everyone is devoted to “dropping those 5lbs(ish) they shouldn’t have gained but didn’t really give a care at the time what they were eating or drinking because it all looked so good and heck what is one more beer gonna do to the figure that 5 bites of melted brie with toasted pretzel bread already hasn’t”… (clearly due to the fact that this post is devoted to cupcakes should really tell you I haven’t quite yet jumped on the bandwagon, nor do I intend to) Yes, I get it. I have stopped drinking beer. Wine and Margs, now that is really just pushing limits. Attempting to get in a daily juice and eat even more hummus and vegetables than last year. If that’s possible I will be one happy gal. And cupcakes well they are purely a happy treat. I find that if I make the small, mini ones, I am “allowed” to have more than one. Three tops.

I absolutely am in L-O-V-E with this cupcake. No need to have a birthday party to make these treats. If you aren’t a of sprinkles, please just step on over to the back of the line, these babies are not for you. Inspired and taken right out of Milk Bar, the pastry end of Momofuku, these beauties are divine. Order your copy of the book today and see for yourself just how easy and uber good these are. The great thing about each recipe, totally doable at home and it will be just like an in store treat.

For those of you who do not know, this handsome lad is Harry Styles. I’d like to thank him for letting me be such an inspiration in his choice in attire for the Burberry Prorsum show…thank you, thank you. My dreams of working in England have been on fire lately! Wooh. So much to consider. Bakeries are the main interest. Obviously. I think I would fit right in. Side note: if I just happen to run into the man above, please don’t be alarmed if I send actual snail mail to many of you out there of said happenings…dreams of London for days on end. I just had to share this because it is literally to good not too!

Welcoming myself back in proper style. Missed this place.

To many more cupcakes this year, much love!

P.S. If any of you out there have information on bakeries in England and would like to share your thoughts, please don’t hesitate to let me know!
