Fun Fact! I have never written a blog with out drinking wine…well maybe like 2 or three but only because coffee was consumed at that time. Welcoming myself back in normal fashion with a glass of red wine titled, “Help is Here”. How appropriate for this day and age of my lovely life.
Where does one even begin?? Jumping right into things. I MISS BLOGGING. I
might have been stuck in a rut of nights filled with margaritas and wine after being in the kitchen for far too many hours, pretending as if I actually have a life outside of work. I mean I attend boy band concerts, do yard work and eat pizza like am a college student and not some 25 year old girl just trying to make sure she doesn’t run out of dry shampoo at ANY given time. Turning 26 in a month is looking real good I’d say at this point… fingers crossed. That about sums up this whole year. Short, simple, sweet and very unmemorable, in a way…
If there is one thing that has kept me sane this year, besides copious amounts of coffee and Targets $1 section, doing cakes has got to be the answer. Seriously think I would be literally insane if I didn’t do things like this in my so called free time. Number one love and something like an addiction I would say. When your sister asks you to stop making cakes because even though she goes to the gym 4 days a week, she claims she is getting “fat” considering the amount of baking one does. Taking her title away for number one taste tester real soon…
Between weddings. Birthdays. And Just Because cakes/events I have loved what has come out of my kitchen thus far this year. Its almost over BUT I can promise you that there will still be a few more surprises in store.
Heartbreaks, 12 hour days in the kitchen, realizing your pant zipper has been down all service and many days of spilt coffee, I am super thankful for constant texts from far away friends. Seriously, awesome. Thanks for keeping me going. AND to my mother, for always doing the dishes!!! I promise not to take such a long break again. Spread the word, Nessa is back!
P.S. I totally titled this blog given today was the release of One Directions new album…far to fitting at 1:11 in the A.M.
I spent the last few weeks planning for this weekend. So much happened! Between working my actual job, attending training sessions at the gym, visiting friends and shopping for all things sweet things got a little hectic. Not complaining one bit because this is what I truly love to do. I have been so inspired lately by my everyday life I was so happy to let in show in my cakes this weekend.
Here you will find some photos of the wedding cake and baby shower cake I did. My first ombré, woo!
Everyone loves a little Fate Tire…or at least they should!
Was able to attend the wedding with one of my most favorite people in life.
Today I’m relearning what it’s like to do nothing but workout, sip coffee, watch movies and online shop. Oh how I have missed these kinds of days. Bliss.
Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Click. Step on into the darkness. Search for the light switch. Realize the removal of sunglasses might help. The smell of the air is clean but not that fresh clean scent. Note : After last night’s rush, the floors still contain tracks from the gals and boys stomping on through. A slight humming comes from the room ahead but the silence is golden. Pure bliss. No one in sight, except for that darn fly we’ve got as a “pet”. A room that holds quite a large handful of people is empty and there I stand, ready to turn that switch on to make the room come alive and ready for what the night brings. The pilots on the stove are burning, strong. The ovens cranked up to 500 degrees now. The dishwashers louder than ever. Suddenly that peace and quite changes completely. Still one person in the room although the kitchen has come to life at Valley.
Surprise packages from far away people I wished I seen more arrived today on my doorstep. Perfection. Absolute happiness. Thankssssss Ryan.
(Bek Bek enjoys a bite….after the gym)
The thought of seeing one’s favorite band at the end of the month is beyond exciting. Winning tickets to see them next year, even more exciting and completely a dream. Inside I actually have a hidden 12 year old school girl who comes out every now and then.
Spending days with a boy who creates moments that are never, ever, ever dull, over too much coffee, (intense) workout sessions, dinner dates and more…far from basic is our life when together. PS…he’s a handsome lad, whose single 😉
(Had blue hair for moment FAR too long this month)
I’ll say it again, TWENTY-FOUR you are a real winner in my book.
